Canoe Trip Recap & Pictures

On a beautiful Saturday in August, a motley crew of First Presbyterian church members and friends went canoeing (or kayaking) on the Holston River. We put in at the Niceley Strong Stock Farm off Rutledge Pike and ended at the Hagler’s house in Holston Hills. The current was moving fairly fast allowing us to make good time. We were on the river for approx. 4 hours, including a 45 minute stop on an island to swim and eat lunch. The trip was gorgeous and secluded. There will be another trip next year in August and you don’t want to miss it.  The cost was $15 per person to cover the cost of a 2-person canoe. There was no charge to bring your own canoe. Life jackets were provided. Bringing sun block, bottled water,  a lunch, towels, a camera, and a bag for trash were necessities.
