Lent begins with Ash Wednesday, February 17, with a service at 6:30 p.m. The season of Lent is a well-practiced and rewarding experience of adopting some spiritual discipline in our life for the forty days leading up to Easter. One of the classic disciplines is a Lenten “fast” – to give
up something for Lent (dessert, television, checking email after 6:00 p.m., etc.). What we give up is not “bad”, but rather the lack becomes a reminder to be devoted to spiritual awareness.
Another Lenten practice is a disciplined course of worship and study. Each Wednesday, there will be such an opportunity, at lunchtime and in the evening. The lunchtime opportunity is ecumenical involving downtown congregations. The evening is our own Worshipful Wednesday.
