For over 55 years, Al-Anon (which includes Alateen for younger members) has been offering strength and hope for friends and families of problem drinkers. It is estimated that each alcoholic affects the lives of at least four other people… alcoholism is truly a family disease. No matter what relationship you have with an alcoholic, whether they are still drinking or not, all who have been affected by someone else’s drinking can find solutions that lead to serenity in the Al-Anon/Alateen fellowship.
Al-Anon meets each Monday at noon in the Jesus’ Friends Classroom located on P2 (one level below the office)
What: The Turnip Patch Knitters, with organizers Lucie Polk and Gray Roberts, knit items to be given to senior citizens and infants. If you knit, or would like to learn how, and are interested in participating in this service project, please contact Lucie at 249-6275 or Gray at 584-2939 for more information.
When: The knitting group meets:
-The second Thursday of the month from 10:00-noon
-The third Tuesday of the month from 10:00-noon
Location: All of these meetings will be held in the library.
When: 9:00am to 11:00am the first Tuesday of each month.
Where: FISH pantry on the lower parking deck
FISH Pantry Item of the Month: The children of the church are asking the congregation to help them with a service project.They will be collecting the following items each month in a box in the Children’s Area or the items can be given as alms after each Chapel Service. All items collected will be used to help stock our FISH pantry.
What: Parents’ Night Out (PNO) is held on the second Friday of every month starting at 5:30 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. Please make your reservations with Lauren Nunn, phone: 684-5111 email: lsnunn.1226@gmail.com, by Tuesday of that week. THERE IS NO PNO FOR JANUARY, JULY OR AUGUST.
The rates are as follows:
$25 One Child
$35 Two Children
$40 Three Children
Half off any of these rates for church members attending a First Fellowship meal.
Voluntary dinner provided to the child(ren) for $2.50 per child. Please request dinner when you RSVP.
