Congregational Retreat

FallsThe annual congregational retreat occurs each spring.  The 2010 retreat will be held April 16 – 18. The congregation of First Presbyterian Church will travel to Fall Creek Falls State Park for worship, spiritual renewal, and relaxation. Programs are offered for all ages in this beautiful mountain setting.  Our speaker will be Christine Yoder from Columbia Seminary (please see below for her biography). The weekend is always highlighted by fun (paddle boating, canoeing, fishing, hiking, biking, golfing, horseback riding, golf, swimming), fellowship (Friday night bonfire with music and smores, Saturday evening buffet dinner and musical entertainment), and some great, informal CE programming for all ages.

Christine Roy Yoder received her B.A. from Swarthmore College and her M. Div. and Ph.D. from Princeton Theological Seminary. An ordained minister of the PC(USA), she serves as Associate Professor of Old Testament Language, Literature, and Exegesis at Columbia Theological Seminary in Decatur, GA. She is the author of Wisdom as a Woman of Substance: A Socioeconomic Reading of Proverbs 1-9 and 31:10-31 published by Walter de Gruyter Press (2001), and Proverbs (Abingdon Old Testament Commentary Series) published by Abingdon Press (2009).
