Wed. Night DinnerThe Wednesday night program has been expanded and improved for this year. The programs offered on Wednesday nights during the school year starts September 3, 2008 and ends May 27, 2009. Last year the children’s program was much improved and this year the adult program has been expanded and improved. The goal is to try to provide quality opportunities for fellowship and Christian education for every age.

Another exciting change to Wednesdays this year is that the church staff, William, Paul, Ashley, and Bryce will occasionally switch class teaching assignments. For instance, while Bryce and Ashley will spend most of their time in the children’s program, there will be designated times that they lead adult programming and vice versa for William and Paul. This is to help keep the programs dynamic, the staff refreshed, and provide interactions across different church groups for the congregation and staff.

Also with the increased variety of adult classes all of the Wednesday nights have been scheduled for the year and broken into 5 teaching blocks. Adult WedThe idea is to create clear start and end dates for each class so everyone knows what is happening in advance and when it is appropriate to change classes. Church members will be needed to help fill in around the church staff to teach classes and help with programs occasionally. The schedule is meant to help plan when and how church members can lead classes they are passionate about. Also notice that for the Christmas Block there will not be any normal Wednesdays. Since this is such a busy time for everyone the focus will be on the special Christmas activities, not just on Wednesdays, at First Presbyterian (See the Master Church Calendar for the whole December list). Also we are going to have a special Lenten Block in which the congregational will be broken into intentional small groups for study, reflection, and fellowship. For this Lenten Block we will need several church members to help lead. If you are interested in leading one of these small groups talk to William.

We look forward to seeing you on these special Wednesdays this Fall. If you have questions or ideas regarding Wednesday programming please continue to share them with us. Please let us know how you would like to be involved. If you are passionate about a topic or curriculum that you would like to share with the rest of the congregation check out the different blocks and schedule a time to lead a class.
