The Parents’ Day Out program is a ministry of the First Presbyterian Church, where we provide preschoolers positive social and learning experiences within a Christian environment. At Parents’ Day Out, our teachers and staff work as a team. We work together to provide a loving and trusting place where children are nurtured, socially and spiritually, through age-appropriate activities. Teachers create experiences for success in a family atmosphere filled with love and respect. We believe that we serve as a very important link in the long chain of a child’s education. General Information
HOURS: 9:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.
Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday
Due to state requirements, children are allowed to attend no more than two days per week.
ENROLLMENT: Enrollment is confirmed upon receipt of the registration fee.
REGISTRATION/SUPPLY FEE: $50.00 one child, $65.00 two siblings
Summer: $25.00 one child, $35 two or more siblings
All fees are non-refundable

2 Children = $225
1 Child & 1 Infant = $265
1 Day per week:
1 Child (13 mos. & Older) = $95

FIRST DAY: Our school year begins the Monday after Labor Day.
Our Summer program begins the Monday after Memorial Day.
Staff Information
Colleen Manrod - Director, Teacher, Infant & Toddler
Colleen has a degree in English. She worked with the Knox County Public Defenders office for 14 years in the Social Services Department. She and her husband, Ehren, have two children, Sophie and Will and are members of First Presbyterian.
Marcia Doyle - Curriculum Planner, Teacher, Infant & Toddler
Marcia has a degree in Early Childhood and Elementary Education. She has 28 years experience working in child care, including 21 years at First Presbyterian, and has worked at Parents’ Day Out for 16 years. She and her husband, David, have one daughter, Erin.
Iva Skinner - Teacher, 4 and 5 Year Olds
Iva was a nursery school teacher for 10 years and has taught Sunday school for 30 years in the pre-school area. She and husband, Bill, are members of First Presbyterian Church. They have four grown children and four grandchildren. Iva has been with PDO for 6 years.
Lauren Nunn - Teacher, Older Twos and Three Year Olds
Records and Bookkeeper Lauren, husband Kevin, and sons, Darwin and Max, are members of First Presbyterian. She has a degree in Biology and has taught nature to preschool and elementary students.
Misty Harrison - Teacher, Older Twos and Three Year Olds
Misty previously worked as an assistant teacher for Headstart as a nursery worker. She attended ETSU. Sh is married to Jamie and has two sons, Hunter and Jayden.
Kathy Nolan - Teacher, 4&5 year olds
Kathy is a member of First Presbyterian Church. She majored in social work and worked for 5 years for Specialty Restaurant Group in the human resources department. She and her husband, Dewayne, have two children, Sam and Allie.
Sandy Andrews - Substitute Teacher
Sandy has a background in floriculture/ornamental design and received her AMS Infant and Toddler training from the Montessori Education Center of Anchorage Montessori School for ten years before moving to Knoxville to help with her elderly in-laws.
