PRESBYTERIAN CENTER at UTK
The Presbyterian Center is a mission of the Presbytery of East Tennessee and the Presbyterian Church (USA). First Presbyterian supports this mission as symbolic extension of the baptismal vows we make to every child baptized in our church. We want to help the Presbyterian Center feel like a home/church away from home/church for students. Members of several Presbyterian Women Circles and the Discipleship Sunday School class provide occasional Sunday evening meals after worship at the Presbyterian Center and baked goods for the students during finals weeks.
The Presbyterian Center students have gone to Guatemala and Chicago on mission trips. First Presbyterian has helped raise money to send them through the annual Chili Cook Off in February, special offerings, and special gifts. We look forward to working side-by-side with the students throughout the school year and in the future.
