Sunday School: (9:45 a.m. - 10:40 a.m.)
The Senior High School class meets one level above the sanctuary class on Sunday. Freshmen through Seniors gather to study the Bible and various topics of their choosing in a family, discussion type setting. Students come from schools all over Knox County. Current students attend West, Bearden, Farragut, Central, Gibbs, and Webb High School.
First Presbyterian supports and encourages these students to be active participants in as much of the life and work of the church as possible. Senior High students consistently help lead Sunday worship services either as lay leaders, technical support, or musically as vocal or instrumental soloists or as part of choirs. The Senior Highs always have a Youth Elder on Session and sometimes two as a graduating Senior and newly elected Junior serve together. They also serve as Youth Deacons, are rotating volunteers for teaching VBS, Children’s Sunday School, and Children’s Church, have quarterly clean up teams for Sunday and Wednesday congregational meals, have a cooking team for the Volunteer Ministry Center, and serve on several church committees.
