Who died March 12, 1828
Aged 28 years, 11 months & 10 days
Was a daughter of James & Sarah Kennedy
the consort of Pryor Lea
the mother of James Kennedy Lea
Lavina Jarnigan Lea, Sarah Stephenson Lea
and a daughter born lifeless on the day
of her mother’s death.
As a member of the Baptist church, she lived in
Christian practice, faith and hope and these
lines were among her last words:
“Jesus can make a dying bed
Feel soft as downy pillow and
While on his breast I lean my head
And breathe my life out sweetly there”
One grave conceals the mother & the babe
beneath the humble family memorial.

Joel Lewis
Joel, infant son of Hickman & Virginia Lewis
born on the 8th of May 1836 and
died on the evening of the same day.
