Note: Margaret Russell Cowen Humes Ramsey was widowed three times, and she gave birth to a son soon after each of her three husbands died. Her first two husbands, James Cowan and Thomas Humes, are buried in the church graveyard, and her tombstone is located between theirs. Her third husband, Francis A. Ramsey, is not buried here. Her sons and step-sons played important roles in the early history of Knoxville.
