A Four-Week Adult Series for Worshipful Wednesday
As we conclude our program year, “Seeking God’s Peace: Reflect, Connect, Serve,” join us for a special adult class exploring the lives of four extraordinary individuals who practiced peacemaking in faithful, grounded, and courageous ways: Fred Rogers, Katie Geneva Cannon, Sojourner Truth, and John Lewis.
These names often inspire reverence—but Peacemakers invites us to go beyond admiration. We’ll reflect on their lives not as untouchable heroes, but as deeply faithful people who made intentional choices to pursue peace in everyday, embodied ways.
Each session will focus on a significant moment of peacemaking in their lives and consider how:
Fred Rogers used his platform for quiets of inclusion
Katie Cannon lifted up the voices the church too often ignored
Sojourner Truth spoke bold truth in spaces whether they were ready to hear or not
John Lewis practiced what he preached, even in the face of brutality
Through conversation, reflection, and community, we’ll ask how we might also embody peace in our lives—not just revere peacemakers, but do likewise.
