On March 17, Colleen Shannon and Susan Sklar, Community Sales Manager for Equal Exchange, will speak at 6:30 p.m. on The Equal Exchange Model: Changing the Reality for Small Farmers. Susan will describe the Equal Exchange alternative trade model that addresses racial and gender equality. Equal Exchange strives to eliminate systemic poverty through an alternative economic supply chain with small farmers in 40 cooperatives and 20 countries. Equal Exchange works with poor black and brown farmers who raise coffee, cacao, tea, fruit, and nuts and who are exploited in their own countries and abroad.
