Spring Workday on the grounds of First Presbyterian on March 22nd – Help Us Prepare for a Season of Visitors!

Join us for a Spring Workday on Saturday, March 22, from 9 AM to 12 PM as we spruce up the graveyard and church grounds in preparation for the Big Ears Festival, the Pettway Lecture Series with Amy-Jill Levine, Palm Sunday, and Easter. With so many visitors coming downtown, this is a great opportunity to ensure our church grounds are looking their best!

We will be working on several projects, including:

🌿 Expanding our river rock efforts – creating beds along the memorial garden, around the new dogwood trees, and the azaleas on the State Street side.

✂️ Trimming and pruning – including the holly tree above the outdoor columbarium and plants that follow a spring schedule.

🍂 General clean-up – clearing sticks, branches, and tidying the corner bed at State & Clinch.

There are jobs for all physical abilities—whether it’s picking up sticks, pruning, trimming, or spreading mulch and river rock. This is also a great service opportunity for youth who need volunteer hours!

If you have questions, please contact Jane Holland at jane@fpcknox.org or Sarah Henderson at sarahhenderson117@gmail.com. We look forward to seeing you there!
