On Saturday, September 2, at 5:00 pm, join us in the sanctuary for a violin recital presented by Ilia Steinschneider. He studied at Moscow State Conservatory and “Musicorda” String Summer Camp, and holds a Performance Diploma from Oberlin Conservatory and a Master’s Degree in Music in Violin Performance from Boston University School for the Arts. Mr. Steinschneider has performed in Russia, Europe and the United States. He currently resides in the Knoxville area and is a core section violinist with the Knoxville Symphony Orchestra.

Mr. Steinschneider will be joined by a couple of his students as well as collaborative pianist, Dr. Emi Kagawa. Emi Kagawa is an internationally recognized soloist, collaborative artist, and clinician. The New York Sun notes that she is “an artist both interesting and bold who quite literally throws herself into her performance creating truly exciting music.” She attended the Juilliard School as a full scholarship student and New York University, and now holds a Doctorate of Musical Arts from the State University of New York at Stony Brook. Dr. Kagawa is currently a member of the piano faculty at Bryan College, Dayton, TN and resides in Knoxville.
