This summer, First Presbyterian Church is hosting Vacation Bible School (VBS) from June 9th to 12th, marking its return from hiatus at FPC since 2019. The week promises fun, crafts, games, and inspiring Bible stories focused on trusting God in every situation. Children will engage in various activities, reinforcing lessons on faith and trust through biblical stories and camp experiences at Camp Firelight. Free evening meals will be served for children and adults. No meal will be served on Sunday.
Children's kickoff will be from 9:45 - 10:45 am on Sunday, June 9th in the chapel. Adults will begin their program on Monday, June 10th at 6:15 pm in the James Park room after the 5:30 pm dinner.
Additionally, adult VBS classes will parallel the children's journey, exploring themes of "Justice," "Presbyterianism," and "Hope" through a curriculum called "Why Presbyterians Are Like That," produced by the Office of Faith Formation of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.). The classes will meet each evening at 6:15 pm in the James Park classroom and will be led by Craig Wrisberg, Sarah Morgan, and Mary Wilson. Join us for this series of Bible Studies to help us think about why Presbyterians are the way we are.
