Kitchen Manager Position

GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION:
This person will primarily work with and manage kitchen and kitchen volunteers of First Presbyterian Church (the “Church”). This position is a regular part-time hourly non- exempt position. Anticipated work hours of 8-10 hours per week for 10 months per year from August through May.
REPORTING AND RELATIONSHIPS:
The Kitchen Manager reports to the Finance and Facilities Manager and works directly with the Kitchen Committee, especially with its chair; works with the church staff for programming and financial functions; and works with church members who serve in food preparation and clean-up roles.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Kitchen Manager will
1. Coordinate with Kitchen Committee chair
2. Purchase basic kitchen necessities for the week and as needed
3. Assist cooking teams as needed
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
The Kitchen Manager should be a good manager of people and facilities, with a heart for how food and beverage strengthen community and build strong fellowship, have the ability to work with volunteers, have extensive familiarity with the management of a kitchen and basic ability to use electronic communication.
The Kitchen Manager shall be an employee AT WILL.
EVALUATIONS:
Performance reviews shall be, to the extent possible, conducted annually by either the Pastor or such other appropriate person or committees as determined by the Personnel and Administration Committee of the Church. Such review shall also include a recommendation by the Personnel and Administration Committee as to compensation.
