We are excited to welcome Dr. Amy-Jill Levine, a renowned Jewish New Testament scholar, for a special weekend of learning and conversation at First Presbyterian Church. Members and friends are invited, and we hope you’ll join us! Please be sure to sign up for the Saturday evening lecture using the link below.

Weekend Schedule April 4th - 6th

Friday, April 4 – Clergy Conversation | 3:00–4:30 PM

"Misunderstanding Judaism means Misunderstanding Jesus and Paul: Points on avoiding antisemitism in teaching and preaching"

Area clergy are invited to explore how Jesus’ and Paul’s teachings fit into their first-century Jewish context and how to avoid misrepresentations that contribute to antisemitism in preaching and teaching.

Register Here for clergy conversation - https://rsvp.church/r/WKKQC43Q

Saturday, April 5 – Public Lecture & Reception | 7:00–9:00 PM

"Jesus and Judaism: The Connection Matters"

Jesus followed the Torah of Moses, drew from the Prophets of Israel, and taught within the Jewish tradition. Yet, misconceptions often separate Jesus from his Jewish context. Dr. Levine’s lecture will offer a deeper understanding of Jesus’ teachings and how they shape Jewish-Christian relations today. A reception will follow in the Fellowship Hall.

Sunday, April 6 – Teaching, Worship & Meet & Greet

9:30 AM – Sunday School in the Chapel: Dr. Levine will discuss The Extensions from the Sermon on the Mount, part of our Lenten study.

11:00 AM – Worship & Preaching: Dr. Levine will preach during worship, offering her perspective on scripture and faith.

12:00 PM – Meet & Greet: A brief opportunity to thank Dr. Levine and connect before her departure.

We hope you’ll join us for this meaningful and enriching weekend as we reflect on scripture and seek deeper understanding together!
