About 75 people attended the 2024 Congo Mission Network Conference in Charleston, SC, March 14-16, celebrating the theme, "Education for Transformation: Equipping Congo's Youth for the Future." At least 100 others around the world attended via Zoom, including roomfuls of people around projectors at seven sites in three Congolese cities. Speakers who included the Rev. Zacharie Mboyamba Kabala of Kananga communicated directly with listeners in the U.S. and Congo. All spoke from the heart while taking a positive, problem-solving approach to the poverty, unemployment, and poorly funded schools of the desperately poor country. Congo is the primary focus of Global Missions at our church, and our dollars directly fund the schools, hospitals, mission co-workers, and needed care for homeless children described in the conference.
