Finding God in the Midst of Us: Kallee Pittenger
The Communication Committee is launching a series of narratives titled "God in the Midst of Us," featuring accounts of how our community members have experienced God through their journeys at First Presbyterian Church.
This week's story is contributed by Kallee Pittenger. Kallee serves First Presbyterian in many capacities: in Presbyterian Women, as a cooking team leader in the kitchen, but perhaps her most impactful role is one of being a being a dedicated volunteer helping to lead our youth ministry.
Kallee creates a welcoming home for our youth, and a calendar packed full of engaging activities to UT games, lake retreats, the Virginia Creeper trail and more. She connects with the Presbytery of East Tennessee to expand the youth's community and influence. She ensures that our youth members remain connected to the church, providing them with a secure space for open discussions about the challenges they encounter in their lives, an opportunity to build strong connections with peers, and a platform for learning about the love of God.
Kallee and her family have been involved at First Presbyterian for many years. She is a contractor and project manager for Purvis Builders. Kallee loves to create art & home designs, bake, garden, boat, and spend time outdoors. She loves high adrenaline activities like roller coasters, motorcycling, snow skiing, bungee jumping, whitewater canoeing and kayaking. She loves to plan trips and travel to beautiful places, and her dream is to search for and visit the most scenic places on Earth like Machu Picchu, Thailand, or the Cinque Terra in Italy.
Kallee is married to Sam Pittenger and is a loving mom to Max, 15.
We are seeking congregants who would like to share their personal experiences of encountering God within the community of First Presbyterian Church. If you have a story to share, please reach out to Katie Norrell at katie@fpcknox.org. Your contribution is very appreciated!
