FPC Presbyterian Women join Presbytery-Wide Fall Gathering

Judy Cagle, Sonja DuBois, Celeste Whaley, Sharon Patton, and Hilda Lipe were among participants in the Presbyterian Women Fall Gathering

A van full of women from First Presbyterian joined the Fall Gathering of Presbyterian Women of East Tennessee at the John Knox Center on Oct. 28. The gathering of about 60 women from churches across East Tennessee enjoyed good fellowship and took care of business too. They enjoyed Christian speaker Kay Peas and the Rev. Dr. Wendy Neff, our new presbyter, who led the group in worship. Audry Jones, executive director of Sunset Gap Community Center in Cosby, accepted food items donated by the group. Ms. Jones described excruciating poverty among area residents, including hunger that affects one in seven people. Sunset Gap is an ongoing mission partner of Presbyterian Women of East Tennessee.
