Learn more about Susan Seagraves and her Work with East TN Children's Hospital

FPC's own Susan Seagraves appeared in the Knoxville News Sentinel recently to promote the 2022 Health Care Heroes Awards. Each year, Health Care Heroes recognizes the outstanding medical professionals making a difference across East Tennessee.

Susan has been volunteering with the East Tennessee Children's Hospital since 2011, and has invested thousands of hours in the care of infants in the NICU, some of who are suffering from opiate withdrawal. She also photographs many of the babies, offering powerful memories and encouragement to the families.

In the photo above that ran in the News-Sentinel, she smiles as she carefully picks up a baby to cuddle him in the hospital's NICU. Susan received the Volunteer Excellence Health Care Hero Award in 2019.
