Rob Jones Stewardship Offering from Sunday, October 23

As part of session, I have had the great privilege of examining new members and officer candidates. This involves hearing their stories, which have lots of variety and are inspiring to my own faith journey. This church’s long history is filled with stories and it is an honor to hear new ones and think of how they all weave together into a beautiful tapestry of faith and community. We hear them every time we meet, be it on Worshipful Wednesdays, First Fellowship, Sunday school, even just hanging out in the doughnut area downstairs. When I look at my own children or help teach the youth, I see a glimmer of the future stories of our church and it makes me proud and grateful.

But things like the mission and organization of our church don’t just happen on their own. I also see all of the planning that goes into making this church work. Part of that is having some reliable idea of what we have to work with as we plan for each coming year. If we tried to do it blind or week to week, some of those possible stories just wouldn’t work out. Though one of our stories is about how the Lord will provide, the Lord doesn’t fill out a pledge card. He provides for all of you. So please, help us continue the story of this church by filling out your pledge and enabling us to plan and execute our missions in the coming year.
