Spotlight on Youth: MacKenna Cook

Youth leaders are doing monthly spotlights on our youth members so we can get to know them better - this month's feature is MacKenna Cook.

MacKenna Cook is an amazing 8th grade student at Union Grove Middle School where teachers have praised her persistence, good grades, and willingness to help. Her credentials are too numerous to mention but include the Beta honor society, excellency awards, and honor roll.

Don’t think her talents end there, MacKenna is a well-balanced young lady, gifted not only in studies, but also socially and physically. Her teachers, friends, and parents are quick to compliment her positive and easy-going attitude, generous and kind manner, loyal and inclusive values. She also loves being outdoors, hanging out with friends and family, and sports like volleyball and basketball.

MacKenna plans to go to college and continue her work with children with disabilities. She is one of the few students at her school allowed to work in the special education classroom. Her mom says, “MacKenna has a good heart and takes care of others, she does what is important.”
