Stewardship Offering - Vanessa Smith

I hope this message finds you well! This year's Stewardship theme invites reflection on being filled with the fullness of God. Especially within our congregation, I think about the intergenerational connections that weave through our community. Personally, I witness the profound influence of relationships on my own children within the First Presbyterian family.

Observing Kaylyn's intentional efforts to reconnect with her past Sunday School teachers goes beyond a mere update on her life; it's an expression of genuine interest in theirs. Even when Kaylyn's grandparents couldn't attend Grandfriends Day, Celeste Whaley, without hesitation, stepped in to support her at the last minute. When Ryne receives a card in the mail with a new sticker from Travis Maryanski, expressing gratitude for his participation in Sunday School, or when he seeks solace with Ms. Rachel or Ms. Becky when he's upset with me, it shows the meaningful connections being formed at this church across the generations.

In moments of seeking guidance on raising my children, Fred Brackney's encouragement that my daughter will one day lead the world is a big source of reassurance. The relationships our youth build with each other and the adults around them promise a significant and long-lasting impact on their lives.

As we enter this Stewardship season, I ask you to reflect prayerfully on how you can contribute to the church—be it through your time, talents, or gifts. Consider the potential impact of your contributions, not just for today but for the generations that will follow. Let's collectively pray about how our congregation can be filled with the fullness of God and, in turn, share that abundance with others. May the Peace of Christ be with you during this season.
