Safety at First Presbyterian

Current COVID-19 Safety Protocol

With the continued decline in the COVID-19 infections in our area, the Session has approved the COVID Task Force’s recommendation to make mask wearing optional in the church building. Even with this change, we encourage everyone to continue to distance when possible as we strive to live safely with this virus. Of course, we will continue to offer livestreaming of our worship service every Sunday and Zoom options for our classes and meetings. The Task Force and our Elders will continue to follow the COVID infection rates, and will put into place precautions and guidelines, should they become necessary again.

As always, our Elders and the members of our COVID Task Force will continue to watch the numbers in Knox County and, if needed, will meet again to evaluate and make decisions about upcoming church gatherings.

I want to thank all our Elders, Task Force members, CE Committee members, and Sunday school teachers for their hard work! I also want to thank each of you for your patience and understanding as we seek to discern the best way to gather, to worship, and to serve as a church family. It is truly a joy to be the church with you for Christ in the heart of Knoxville!

Thank you,
Senior Pastor Mark Curtis
