Covenant Health Knoxville Marathon and Palm Sunday Parking / Travel tips

The Covenant Health Knoxville Marathon  is the same day as Palm Sunday on April 2, 2023. The race begins at 7:30 am. There will be increased traffic, crowds and emergency vehicles, and we recommend giving extra time to get to church that day.

Worshipers coming from south Knoxville/Island Home will need to come in on Henley St., take right turn on Church Ave, crossing Gay St. (closed for the race, but will have breaks in runners which will allow traffic through) and then enter through the tunnel to park, or you can turn left on State St. and access the P2 level from Clinch.  

The State St. Garage will also be available; prepare to take a few minutes to find a spot there also.

Travelers from the West can still use James White Parkway off of I-40 and take the Cumberland Ave exit towards State Street; a right turn on State St will be permitted.

We are losing access to our parking on Central St at the P1 level, but the office has received confirmation that parking for Palm Sunday will also be available in the gated lot across from the church, at the corner of State St. and Church Ave.
