First Presbyterian Church will offer two tracks for the Worshipful Wednesday Lenten Teaching series.

These classes will be held from February 24 - March 24th at 6:30pm on Zoom - links to come.

Please make sure you check out the updated information on the Matthew 25 class that includes a list of great topics and speakers.

FIRST LENTEN TRACK: Jeff McCrory will teach a five part series titled "Why Creeds and Confessions?" This short class will look at why Reformed Christians place emphasis on Confessions. More specifically, we will look at the Apostles Creed as representative of a creed that makes clear scriptural teaching for a particular time and place.

SECOND LENTEN TRACK: Meredith Loftis, Colleen Shannon, and Kelly Norrell will lead a five part series on what would it mean to become a Matthew 25 church.

Invited speakers and church members will help us explore community and global needs and our potential to respond.

Matthew 25: 31-46 calls each of us to actively engage in the world around us – to act boldly and compassionately to serve people who are hungry, oppressed, imprisoned or poor. In January, the Local and Global Mission Committees of our church voted to pursue becoming a Matthew 25 church. This is in accordance with an appeal by both the 222nd and 223rd General Assemblies.
