Understanding the 6 A's of Dementia Helps Caregivers Understand their Loved One

Episode 15: The 6 A's of Dementia

Communicating with a person living with dementia subtypes can be challenging and difficult to understand at times. Memory is only one factor in terms of cognitive decline. Introducing yourself and gaining a better understanding of all of the A’s can help you overcome some of the challenges and try to formulate a game plan.

The hosts, Marketta Puckett and Tracey Kendall Wilson want to connect with you, encourage you, offer resourceful suggestions to equip you, inform you, answer your questions, and educate each other from our own life experiences by sharing concerns and laughs. Each brings her unique perspective to the Dementia Caregivers Community. Marketta cared for her father and her husband during their long journey's with the disease. Tracey is a Certified Dementia Practitioner and Regional Director with Alzheimer's Tennessee. She brings decades of professional and family caregiving experience to the podcast.

Most of all, this team hopes to communicate to you, the caregiver that they we understand, care and share a common bond in the community as caregivers to individuals living with dementia
