Youth Spotlight: Featuring Christian Candino

Kallee Pittenger, our wonderful youth volunteer, is working with us to highlight members of our Youth program. Christian Candino is one of our graduating seniors. Our youth need all of the adult support we can give, so please make sure to say hello to Christian when you see him!

Christian Candino is our Spotlight Youth of the month. He is the son of Becky Winston and Steve Candino and has been attending First Presbyterian with his brother and sister since he was born. He is a senior at South Doyle High School and will be delivering one of the sermons on Youth Sunday, February 11.

His peers say that he is upstanding, kind, inclusive, witty and has an optimistic outlook on life. His mom praises his intelligence, work ethic, responsibility, his care of others, and his exceptional communication skills. He once said to her “Girls think it’s cool when you know ASL, but they really like a guy who can express himself!”

He is new to theatre and will be the male lead this April in Mama Mia at his school (be sure to get tickets!). His theatre teacher exclaimed the first time he sang for her, “Where have you been? And you’re a senior?” Frederick Wagoner remarked that Christian’s voice is “a beautiful instrument”.
