Rob Jones Stewardship Offering

Continuing with our message this season of considering how we are filled with all the fullness of God, we should be joyful in the future that God has planned out for us. We know that God has been generous with us in the past, and we can see the seeds planted for the future. Planting is in large part about planning. In the parable of the sower, the sower scatters seed all over the place. There’s a message there also about God’s generosity, but it results in some waste and failure. The crop that thrives is that which landed in the field that had been prepared for it. In the same way, the Finance committee is currently planning the budget for next year. In order to make a decent plan or budget, you have to have some idea what you have to work with. By making pledges, we can prepare the ground for next year’s fruitful harvest.

Every year I’m here I see changes and signs of the future. New programs, new faces, new children, all of it speaks to God’s plan for us. There is joy in knowing that what you give is part of God’s plan, through the plans we prayerfully make, and sets the foundation for the joyful future He promises us. I ask that you think about the missions we are part of and the ways we contribute together to the future as you make your own plans for next year, and make us a part of that plan by filling out a pledge card or doing your pledge online.
