Yassin Terou delivers powerful word at Worshipful Wednesday's "Pathway to Peace" Series - see video recording in link below
We were deeply honored to welcome Yassin Terou, the inspiring owner of Yassin's Falafel House and recipient of Reader's Digest's "Nicest Place in America" award, as a speaker in our "Pathways to Peace" series this week. Yassin shared his journey of peacemaking in our city, highlighting the importance of overcoming differences to serve one another and our community. His heartfelt message resonated with everyone in attendance: “Stand with people who are not like you. Don’t judge. Help your community, love the people around you, and leave all the differences between you to God.”
Yassin’s words were a powerful reminder of the strength found in unity, faith and compassion. His courageous journey as a refugee coming to the United States with his family, and his unwavering dedication to fostering peace and understanding among diverse groups, is a testament to the positive impact one can make in a community when guided by the love of God. We are so grateful to Yassin for sharing his wisdom and inspiring us all at First Presbyterian to be good neighbors and stewards of our community.
